Back in August of this year, the chancellor Rishi Sunak announced in his ‘Plan for Jobs’ that an apprenticeship incentive scheme was to be introduced for all employers wanting to hire an apprentice in a bit to kickstart the nation’s economy post lockdown which was due to end January 31st 2021.
We are pleased to announce that the closing date for the employer incentives has been extended for a further two months, ending 31st March 2021.
The incentives remain the same in terms of the incentive amount and how to claim, with some businesses being able to claim up to £3000 if the apprentice is aged 16-18. That's £2000 from the new incentive payment plus an additional £1000 incentive that was already in place prior to August 2020.
Since August, when the incentive was first announced, Avant Skills Academy has been able to support many local employers in finding new apprentices for their businesses. Now, with the news of the extension, we hope to be able to support many more business in employing an apprentice through our dedicated recruitment service which continues to support employers with no charge!
