Jasmin Powles, from Grimsby was struggling to find employment before her Traineeship. She has now made great strides in an Intermediate Apprenticeship at the e-factor Group Ltd, having increased her skills and confidence.
Jasmin had achieved GCSEs and a Level 2 CACHE in Early Years Education before finding herself unemployed. She was unsure of the type of job she wanted when she saw a vacancy for a Traineeship with Avant Partnership. She began her Traineeship in April 2016, aged 18, and after selecting business administration as the sector to gain her work experience in she completed work preparation training alongside her ten-week work placement.
Before the end of her Traineeship, Jasmin was offered an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Business Administration by e-factor.
Jasmin credits her Traineeship with kick-starting her career and helping her to overcome barriers. “My work experience has helped me so much. I have become much more confident on the phone and meeting new people. I’d definitely recommend a Traineeship to others, it helps so much with the start of your employment life. Without this programme I don’t know where I would be.”
Natalie Cresswell, Operations Manager at e-factor, says: “The Traineeship gave us the opportunity to find the right person to fit the role and to fit in with the team. Having Jasmin here has given me time to be able to do my job more effectively. She is a breath of fresh air and a credit to young people and Avant. I would miss Jasmin if she wasn’t here.”
