If you’re looking to expand your salon, hiring a hairdressing apprentice is a fantastic way to grow your team by developing talent in-house. At Avant Skills Academy, we’re a hairdressing apprenticeship provider in Hull and Grimsby, and are dedicated in training up apprentices to become qualified hairdressers with the potential to go far in the hair and beauty world. Since the hair industry is evolving constantly with new styles and techniques, you’ll want a hairdressing training provider that keeps up to date with the latest trends and can teach your apprentices the skills they need to succeed. That’s us! Our hairdressing tutors are always up to date on industry standards and are here to support learners at every step. And if that makes you think we’re an apprenticeship training provider you’d want to work with then get in touch with us today and we’ll find you an apprentice that fits into your salon.
Why You Should Hire Our Hairdressing Apprentices
Our hairdressing apprentices are trained to industry standards. When you choose Avant Skills Academy you’re getting an additional set of hands that help the salon run smoothly now, and a future stylist who grows into your standards.
Train Future Hairdressers
When you hire a hairdressing apprentice you have the opportunity to mould your employees to the standards and culture of your salon. They won’t be bringing over any bad habits that they’ll have to unlearn, you can shape them into the hairdresser that works to your salon’s standards. From day one they’ll be learning on the job, talking to clients and building valuable experience that will turn them into a qualified professional ready to become a fully rounded member of your team.
Support You Can Trust
It’s not just up to you to teach your apprentice the inner workings of the hair industry. At Avant Skills Academy, we have our very own training salon where apprentices can learn and develop their skillset. From shampooing and conditioning hair, to a range of hair cutting techniques, to styling and finishing hair, and to colouring skills too! With the help from our qualified hairdressing tutors and working under you in your salon, apprentices will be able to create a variety of different looks for both women and men.
Grow Your Salon
Choosing to work with a hairdressing apprenticeship provider is a great way for you to grow your salon.. You’re not hiring someone with experience, but you’re gaining a staff member who has the potential to become an amazing hair wizard with your support. By developing new talent you can fill skill shortages in your salon. Not only that but apprentices tend to be loyal to their employer who gave them the opportunity to grow, so you’re more likely to retain staff than if you hired a qualified professional from the get go.
What Salons Should Expect From Taking On A Hairdressing Apprentice
When you choose to take on an apprentice hairdresser, you’ll see certain benefits from this decision. A hairdressing training provider like Avant can help match you with the right candidate that slots into your team nicely.
Save On Recruitment Costs
Hiring a trainee stylist through apprenticeship programs can save you time and money. We screen all applicants and conduct our own interviews before sending them your way, at no extra cost to you. You also will only have to pay your apprentice hairdresser the minimum apprentice wage while they’re training if they are 16-18 or 19 and over but still in the first year of the course.
Drive Career Progression
You may be hiring someone with no experience, but the skillset they pick up in salon and with Avant will give the apprentices the tools to progress. If you’re looking for someone to specialise in colouring or you could be looking for someone who is great at cutting, you can guide your trainees down a specialist route once they’ve mastered the basics in the course. Once they’ve received their qualification you can choose to further their training in the salon, and they’ll be in a position where they can start bringing in clients.
Government Incentives
There are also some government incentives for bringing in an apprentice. If they’re aged 16-18 or 19-24 and are a care leaver or have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), then you may receive up to £1000 towards training payments. Also if you’re a non-levy salon (your annual payroll is under £3million) then you may get 95% of the course funded by the government, with you only having to pay 5% for training costs.
Why Choose Avant As Your Hairdressing Apprenticeship Provider
We’re not a hairdressing apprenticeship provider that will just find you a trainee stylist and then leave you to it. We’re here to support both you as their employer and the apprentice from the start, right up to when they pass their EPA. Having our very own training salon is a big bonus for apprentices as they are able to practice the skills they’ve learned in a training environment; from cutting to styling to colouring, and then perfect their techniques. Our hairdressing tutors have industry experience (some even own their own salons) and are up to date on the ever changing hairdressing techniques, and are dedicated to turning apprentices into successful hairdressers. When you choose Avant you’re getting a hairdressing training provider that creates up and coming stylists who have the potential for a long lasting career. If you want to expand your salon and build a team with a strong skillset, then get in touch with us today and we’ll help you find the apprentice that helps move your salon in the right direction.
