Sanders Bespoke Flooring is offering an exciting opportunity as part of the Skills Experience Programme to gain practical experience alongside experienced flooring professionals.
This programme is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, wants to learn a trade and is looking to build the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for a successful future within the flooring industry.
Throughout the programme, you will:
• Assist experienced flooring fitters on a variety of projects.
• Help prepare rooms before flooring installation.
• Learn about different flooring types, including carpets, vinyl and Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT).
• Support with measuring and checking flooring materials.
• Help move and organise stock, tools and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe and tidy working environment.
• Assist with deliveries and loading materials.
• Learn basic floor preparation techniques.
• Develop customer service and communication skills.
• Gain an understanding of how a successful flooring business operates.
• Build confidence and practical skills to support a future career in the flooring industry.
• Gain a strong foundation of knowledge and experience to give you a great start and help you become successful in the flooring trade.
During this 4-month programme, learners will work towards the Award in Employability while gaining valuable industry experience in the workplace.
The qualification includes the following units:
- Work Preparation
- Searching for a job
- Applying for a job
- Interview skills
- Safe learning in the workplace
Alongside your qualification, you'll spend up to four days each week gaining hands-on experience in the workplace, putting your learning into practice.
By the end of the programme, you'll have the confidence, ability and workplace experience to progress into an apprenticeship or employment.
Although progression into an apprenticeship is not guaranteed, learners who demonstrate a positive attitude, excellent attendance, initiative and a genuine desire to achieve will be put forward for apprenticeship opportunities with employers within Avant Skills Academy's extensive employer network.

- Appreciates the satisfaction that comes from transforming a room and seeing the results of a job completed to a high standard.
- Is motivated to build a successful career within the flooring industry.
No previous flooring experience is required.
A positive attitude, willingness to learn and strong work ethic are far more important than previous industry knowledge.
