Rydan Design & Interiors is offering an exciting opportunity to join their Skills Experience Programme, providing practical experience within their busy showroom while learning from an experienced, family-run team.

This programme is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has an interest in interiors, retail or customer service, and wants to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for a successful career in the retail or interiors industry.

What will you be doing?

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable and eager to gain experience within a professional retail environment.

Throughout the programme, you will:

  • Welcome customers into the showroom and provide a friendly first impression.
  • Learn about a wide range of furniture, home furnishings and interior products.
  • Support customers as they browse products and assist the team with customer enquiries.
  • Help create attractive product displays and maintain the presentation of the showroom.
  • Assist with stock organisation, deliveries and merchandising.
  • Learn how products are ordered, priced and displayed for sale.
  • Support the team with administration and day-to-day office tasks behind the scenes.
  • Gain an understanding of customer orders and the journey from enquiry through to delivery.
  • Develop excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Learn how a successful family-run interiors business operates across every department.
  • Work alongside experienced members of the team to gain valuable workplace skills.
  • Build confidence, professionalism and practical experience to support a future career in retail, customer service or business.
  • Gain a broad understanding of both customer-facing and behind-the-scenes business operations.
What training will you undertake and what qualification will you get at the end?

During this 4-month programme, learners will work towards the VCTC Award in Employability while gaining valuable industry experience in the workplace.

The qualification includes the following units:

  • Work Preparation
  • Searching for a job
  • Applying for a job
  • Interview skills
  • Safe learning in the workplace

Alongside your qualification, you'll spend up to four days each week gaining hands-on experience in the workplace, putting your learning into practice.

By the end of the programme, you'll have the confidence, ability and workplace experience to progress into an apprenticeship or employment.

Qualifications

No previous experience is required.

GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 or above are beneficial but not essential. Every applicant will undertake an initial assessment to assess suitability. Support may be available where required.
