Why Hire An Apprentice Through Avant

Are you looking into hiring an apprentice? Here’s what to expect:

Fresh Ideas

Apprentices bring new energy and different ways of working. Because they learn in the role while taking in new techniques with us, they bring in new ways of thinking to tasks that you may have never thought of on your own. These fresh ideas and enthusiasm to develop their skills can also rub off on their colleagues and result in a positive work environment overall.

Reduce Recruitment Costs

Apprenticeships are a practical route if you want to keep recruitment spend under control. We handle the advertising, shortlisting and initial screening for your role at no charge. You then interview a focused shortlist instead of starting from scratch. Many employers also qualify for government incentives that reduce the cost of training and hiring.

Fully Rounded Team

Apprenticeships build skills inside the team you already have. Learners pick things up in the flow of work, using your systems, following your processes and getting feedback from your people. That means you can shape how they work from the start, rather than trying to reshape habits later. Over time the apprentice becomes a reliable member of staff who understands your workflows, supports others and helps close skill gaps that have been holding you back.

Why Let Our Apprenticeship Provider Train Your Team

Choosing an apprenticeship provider isn’t just about filling a vacancy. It’s about finding someone who can help you develop people in a way that fits your culture and long-term plans. When you work with Avant Skills Academy, you get an apprenticeship training provider that understands local businesses and keeps employers involved at every stage.

Retain Employees

Putting staff on apprenticeships is one of the simplest ways to show you value them. When people can see that you’re willing to invest in their training, they’re more likely to stay and build a future with you. That applies whether you’re hiring a new apprentice or offering an existing employee the chance to gain a qualification. Instead of constantly replacing leavers, you hold on to people who know your organisation and feel like they belong there.

Upskill Your Team

Putting an employee on an apprenticeship shows you’re investing in their future with you. It gives a defined route to grow (an administrator can move into coordination, a technician can step into supervision) with milestones that make progress visible. When people can see that next step inside the organisation, motivation and job satisfaction rise, and loyalty follows.

Government Incentives

Funding is another reason employers look for an apprenticeship training provider. In the UK, you may be able to access financial support towards training costs. Employers with an annual payroll under £3 million usually pay 5% of the training and assessment fee, with the government covering the rest up to the funding band maximum. If you pay the Apprenticeship Levy, the cost comes from your levy pot rather than your everyday training budget. We can talk you through what applies to your business so there are no surprises.

Apprenticeship Training Provider FAQs

Which apprenticeship programmes are available?

We offer apprenticeships in data administration, content creation, team leader, hairdressing, and more! See our apprenticeships here.

Can apprenticeships be used for existing staff?

Yes. Apprenticeships are open to anyone aged 16+ and are a strong route for upskilling or retraining current employees which allows staff to stay productive while gaining the qualification.

How does funding work for non-levy employers?

If you don’t pay the Apprenticeship Levy, you normally contribute 5% of the training and assessment cost and the government funds the rest up to the funding band maximum. We can explain the figures and what they mean for your chosen programme.

What support do learners receive?

Every apprentice is supported by a dedicated Programme Tutor Assessor who coordinates off-the-job learning, workplace development and preparation for End-Point Assessment. Regular reviews keep you in the loop and make sure the learner is on track.

Do you offer traineeships?

Yes. For those who need extra support before an apprenticeship, our pre-apprenticeship helps them build confidence and workplace skills so they’re ready for employment or an apprenticeship later on.

What does EPA involve?

The end point assessment is typically a three part exam that involves a presentation, an interview and an exam. We prepare learners thoroughly and keep you informed so they can achieve the best results possible.
