What will the apprentice be doing?

You will ensure proper flow of office procedures, and support the office directors by carrying out common office duties. You will maintain a positive and friendly company image by acting as the first line of contact to visitors, customers, and vendors in person, online, and via telephone.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Communicate with relevant agencies to produce travel itineraries for employees working away from home.
  • Take care of website functions and social media profiles
  • Arranges meetings by scheduling appropriate meeting times, booking rooms, for meetings with clients
  • Manages correspondence by answering calls, emails and sorting mail
  • Manages reception area and looks after visitors
  • Drafts, formats, and prints relevant documents
  • Assists in purchase orders and invoicing
  • Maintains stock lists and orders office supplies as needed
  • Interacts with directors/Employees and carries out their requests

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • You will learn the knowledge, skills & behaviours which will support you for your end-point assessment
  • You will take part in a combination of activities, such as face-to-face classroom-based sessions, remote learning sessions, work shadowing and online learning, to support your learning and development
  • Functional skills if required
  • You will be required to undertake training sessions with Avant Skills Academy every other week, throughout the length of the apprenticeship
