£25,979 to £30,825 PA (dependant on qualifications and experience)

We’re excited to announce a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Designated Safeguarding Lead, working from our Grimsby and Hull training centres with the opportunity for some hybrid working. 

We are seeking a passionate individual with experience of safeguarding and an understanding of KCSIE to join our team, supporting both our Grimsby and Hull training centres. This role has been created due to our expansion and the growth in learner numbers and reflects our unwavering commitment to safeguarding and learner welfare.

As the Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will take a proactive role in ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all learners, providing expert safeguarding oversight and pastoral care. With the flexibility of hybrid working, this is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of learners while contributing to the success of our growing training centres.

Key Objectives:

  • Take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection (including online safety and understanding the filtering and monitoring systems and processes in place)
  • Raise awareness of safeguarding policy and associated arrangements
  • Be a source of support and expertise for staff in relation to safeguarding and prevent arrangements. Mediate, lead and educate on safeguarding matters. Aid referral decision-making process by liaising with relevant agencies
  • Arrange, develop and/or deliver staff safeguarding and prevent training

    Qualifications

    Ideally a level 5 or equivalent management qualification (to also undertake DSL training and repeat bi-annually).  

    Experience, Knowledge and Skills

    • Ability to demonstrate integrity and respect when working with others

    • Ability to produce and develop guidance and resources
    • Knowledge of types of harm and abuse
    • Knowledge of legislation, government guidance and national frameworks for safeguarding children and adults at risk
    • Knowledge of the role and responsibilities of local key safeguarding agencies, including social services and the police
    • Knowledge of local social services processes for the assessment and referral of safeguarding concerns
    • Knowledge of information technology, including Microsoft Office

    Full Driving Licence and use of own vehicle essential
